LST Galaxia: An Out of This World Online Game to Prevent Bullying and Cyberbullying

The effects of bullying and cyberbullying can have a devastating and lasting impact on youth. They are at increased risk of depression, anxiety, sleep difficulties, lower academic achievement, dropping out of school, and substance misuse. In addition, there is a negative impact on instructional time, reduced school connectedness, and the risk of overwhelming administrators and school staff in addressing these behaviors. In this webinar, the presenter will review details related to bullying and cyberbullying among school-aged youth and will introduce evidence-based programming that can have a significant positive impact on reducing bullying, cyberbullying, violence, and delinquency. The presenter will introduce an online game (LST Galaxia) specifically designed to reduce bullying and cyberbullying among middle school students. Game play examples will be shown, and the presenter will highlight recent findings related to reducing bullying and cyberbullying perpetration.
